Pediatric Dentists

Reinaldo J. Negron, D.D.S., M.S.D.

A native from Puerto Rico, Reinaldo J. Negron received his dental degree from Columbia University in New York City and a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a Master of Science in Dentistry from the University of Washington/Children’s Hospital and Regional Center in Seattle.

Dr. Negron’s interest in health care and the dental profession emanates from his commitment to the well-being of children. He has been involved in volunteer activities to help children in underserved communities receive the dental care they need; and has lectured on the use and benefits of fluoride varnishes. Dr. Negron is particularly interested in the development of preventive programs for Early Childhood Caries. His professional mission is to provide the best quality of care for all the children who touch his life on a daily basis.

Besides being at Piedmont Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Negron works at La Clinica de la Raza and is a house staff member of Children’s Hospital in Oakland. His other interests outside dentistry are traveling and he is an avid fan of tennis.

Dr. Negron is currently an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, International Association of Pediatric Dentistry, California Dental Association, and the Alameda County Dental Society.

Leticia Mendoza-Sobel D.D.S.

Dr. Mendoza-Sobel has practiced and taught pediatric dentistry since 1994. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Mendoza-Sobel completed specialty educational programs in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. She is currently an assistant professor at the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry and has participated with the Children’s Hospital Craniofacial Team in Oakland. She has donated her services for underserved children at La Clinica de la Raza in Oakland, California.

Dr. Mendoza-Sobel loves working with children. She brings a warm, fun and personal approach to patient care. Her storytelling and distraction techniques make dental visits more enjoyable for the patients. She has lectured for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry about behavior management through storytelling and distraction techniques during dental treatment.

Dr. Mendoza-Sobel writes children’s books. She loves to run, travel and dine with her husband, Dr. Richard S. Sobel, also a pediatric dentist. Dr Mendoza-Sobel enjoys cooking, knitting, reading and beading in her spare time.
